Comic books are really harmless. There is a need to encourage kids for such books. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Someone has rightly said that books are man’s best friend. Books not only educate people but they also entertain, guide and enlighten the human brain at any age. But only good books can serve this purpose.
I am not in favour of encouraging kids for such books. Innocent brains of the children are not capable to differentiate between the real and the imaginary world. Unrealistic things in the comics can spoil their imagination. Children read many types of comics like He-Man, Shaktimaan and many more. Flying in the sky, revolving around and reaching places and all these types of factious acts have also lead to accidents amongst children who try to imitate their favourite superhero. Not only this, surveys have shown that children become addicted to reading such types of books instead of their curriculum books. This decreases their efficiency and concentration in schools affecting their future. Also, generally comics do not impart any moral values to the children.

On the other hand, there is another school of thought which believes that comic books should be encouraged. They feel that this improves their reading skills and could also develop their interest for books. Some people also think that instead of inclining children towards internet and computers, it is better to encourage them to read books.

Furthermore, I would like to stress on my point of view that children should be made to read the books that not only teaches them something but also refreshes them. The story books related to epics or history or the books that impart some moral values and ethics should be encouraged so that the soft brains can be moulded in a better way.

In the nutshell, I would just like to say that books and the knowledge they give, is the like oil that we should put in the lamp of life so that it brightens our future. And this should be encouraged and applied since childhood.
